Student Testimonials

Certificate Alumni

“The USC certificate program was transformational for me. Thanks to the experienced and dedicated faculty who lead the program, I went from an enrollment management novice, to a leader on our campus who has a strong understanding of the discipline of enrollment management. In addition to the support of the faculty, being in a program with colleagues from both sides of the desk allowed for well-rounded, and comprehensive discussions that were always mutually beneficial. I’m in a better position to give students at St. Francis College the opportunity to dream, serve and achieve because of my engagement in this program.”

– Robert Oliva, Certificate alum, Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management at St. Francis College

“The USC Leadership in Enrollment Management certificate program offered me space to reflect and connect with others about our daily work. This experience was invaluable in gaining perspective, building confidence and making connections with some down-to-earth and super bright people.”

– Tom Hoener, Certificate alum, Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management at California Lutheran University

“The USC certificate program is an investment into growing your profession. It is serendipitous to take during the busiest time of the year because each lesson has an exact parallel theme as to what I was working on in the office. The professors and teachers are experts in the field who provide wisdom with understanding. Even with the experience of working within the field of enrollment management, I still found it beneficial to engage in the group discussions, thought-provoking readings, and each week noticed I had a new and fresh way of approaching my work. I recommend this certification program to anyone who is looking to grow in their knowledge of this field.”

– Ingrid Palmisano, Certificate alum, Director of Enrollment Management at Miami Country Day School

Master’s Degree Alumni

“I have worked in enrollment management for several years and now have a new depth of understanding of the work that we do that I didn’t even realize I was lacking. This program has already made me more effective on my campus, made me re-think how we do the work we do and energized me for the admissions and enrollment profession.”

– Brian O’Rourke, ME ‘20 Vice President for Enrollment Management, Marketing, and Communications at Valparaiso University in Indiana

“I was drawn to the EMP program because a program like this is rare – with some of the most respected enrollment management leaders as faculty, cutting-edge research and a comprehensive curriculum specifically designed to prepare each individual to be a change agent in the field of enrollment. I feel like my experience has been tailored to my needs and desires, and I am grateful for the genuine interest the faculty and my colleagues have in mutual development and empowerment.”

Liana Hsu, ME ‘20, Associate Director of Admissions and Student Services at UC Berkeley

“The EMP program has been completely invaluable to me. As a seasoned professional, I was worried that I may be past my prime for a graduate degree. That couldn’t be further from the truth. Our professors are thoughtful and approachable; they want to make sure you succeed. I appreciate the user-friendly platform of our learning community that allows me to log in from anywhere around the globe, which comes in handy when traveling. However, what I value most is the sense of community in our shared classroom environment.”
