Special Announcement
Lucido to be Scholar-In-Residence
Dr. Jerry Lucido will be stepping away from his post as executive director of the Center for Enrollment Research, Policy and Practice (CERPP), effective July 1. Fortunately, he will not be leaving the center he founded and led for many years. Instead, he will continue his contributions as Scholar-in-Residence, where he will continue to keep CERPP connected to the profession through his research and professional education efforts. He will also remain the Principal Investigator on all projects. However, this change to Scholar-in-Residence will give Jerry more well-earned time to spend with his family.
We are delighted to announce that Dr. Emily Chung, long the associate director of CERPP, will become its interim executive director, effective July 1. Emily has been exceptionally effective leading the operational efforts of CERPP across its many activities, and the center will now benefit from her leadership talents as interim director. More information about a permanent director will be forthcoming in the months ahead.
Please join us in congratulating Jerry on his extraordinary work in founding CERPP, for his many contributions to the field of enrollment management and policy, and to advancing educational equity. These include:
• Educating the next generation of leaders through the creation of two innovative programs: the USC Certificate in Leadership in Enrollment Management and the USC Master of Education in Enrollment Management and Policy.
• Advancing equitable admission and enrollment practices through creation and delivery of the annual CERPP conference, which is perennially focused on equity.
• Founding the USC College Advising Corps, which now provides full time college advising at 45 Los Angeles area high schools, helping over 10,000 students annually apply to college and financial aid.
• Advancing admission practice through his chapters on how admission decisions are made, test-optional admission, and his many articles, keynotes, and conference presentations.
• Advancing thinking in enrollment management through his research on admission practice, the enrollment industry, national enrollment patterns, and educational policy.
All of us, including Jerry, look forward to continued service to you and all those who serve in enrollment related positions across the spectrum of American education.
